School closure not the end for historic building

A school closure in Honey Harbour isn’t the end of the historic building.
This from Georgian Bay Mayor Larry Baird who says there are still plenty of possibilities for the 60-year-old Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Elementary School.
Baird says $300,000 set aside by the township for a waterfront project that never came together could help revitalize the building.
The Simcoe-Muskoka Catholic District School Board decided in March that it would be closing the doors of the school because of low enrolment.
The board will be holding a special community event on June 25th at the school before closes.
