Henry’s Fish Restaurant in Sans Souci set to open June 23

Henry’s Fish Restaurant will be opening its doors this summer.

In mid-May the restaurant made waves online by announcing on their Facebook page that the restaurant on Sans Souci would not be opening.

By the start of June Henry’s was saying they were working finding ways to open up this year.

Now Moose FM can confirm that Henry’s is planning to open this summer on June 23.

Paul Elliott, owner and operator of Henry’s, says the reason they weren’t opening was a shortage of employees in the kitchen. He says they’re still short a few workers, including a lead cook, but they’re going to make a go of it.

According to Elliott, a long-term member of the kitchen staff quit just days before they were supposed to open this year.

Henry’s in Sans Souci is a seasonal restaurant and Elliot says it can be very difficult to replace key employees. The restaurant has been operating on Frying Pan Island for over four decades.

There is another Henry’s Fish Restaurant at the Wye Heritage Marina in Midland, which is open year-round.
