The Bracebridge OPP is releasing the names of the victims in Friday night’s plane crash on Highway 11. Ted Dirstein, a 66-year-old Bracebridge man, and 48-year-old Allan Metivier from Stratford both died in the crash. The OPP says the two men were the occupants of the plane.
The plane had left the Muskoka Airport before crashing at around 5:00pm, and the cause is still being investigated.
Highway 11 was closed in both directions around Highway 118 and Doe Lake Road as police investigated, but has since been reopened.
The Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
