Liberal Government’s costly rubber duck ruffles feathers

It s a 200-thousand dollar bill people aren’t too sure about. That’s the price tag to rent a six-storey rubber duck, which is coming to a Toronto waterfront festival this summer.

Around 120-thousand of that is being paid for by the province, and the rest is funded through grants and corporate sponsors. The cost includes transporting the duck, inflating it, and towing it to other communities in Ontario.

Moose FM went to the streets to find out how people about the cost, some of which have their feathers ruffled.

Toronto officials call the cost an investment, estimating every dollar spent will bring in 20-dollars in tourism spending.
