The Parry Sound EMS is happy with the turnout of their last food drive. The drive was to collect food for the Harvest Share Food Bank. According to Jason Predie from EMS they managed to fill two ambulances with donations.
Predie says that this time of year is always difficult for Harvest Share, and added that the donations they collected were able to restock the shelves of the food bank. Predie says that the drive owes a lot of their success to high school students.
As an example, he mentioned a pair of high-schoolers that held a bake sale where they baked goods in exchange for non-perishables.
