The Town of Parry Sound is asking the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care for more funding. Town Council supported a resolution circulated by McKellar township on this topic.
Provincial funding doesn’t cover operating costs of senior homes.
The part of the costs municipalities cover for Belvedere Heights have grown 402 % in the last 15 years.
The total is around 1.5 million dollars
These costs are dealt with by taxpayers.
