Carling Township says no to gun hunting on Sundays

Hunters are not happy with Carling Township after town council turned down a proposal to allow gun hunting.
The decision was made on Tuesday in a committee meeting.
Mayor Mike Konoval says concern from citizens about unsafe hunting in the township swayed him to not support Sunday gun hunting.
He says there has been damage to homes and property in Carling from these unsafe practices.
Margo Leduc, an avid hunter present at the meeting last week, says the mayors decision is disappointing for hunters in Carling that follow the rules. She also says Sunday’s are the only days that gun hunting is not allowed.

Gun hunting is allowed in Carling every other day of the week. Hunting with a bow is also permitted on Sundays.
