The silence has been broken on the ongoing Children’s Aid lockout.
The Children’s Aid Society of Parry Sound and Nipissing are lifting the lockout, but workers won’t be returning on Monday.
CAS still refuse to concede on the key issue of sick days. CUPE has responded to the lockout being lifted by going forward with job action.
CUPE and CAS were supposed to be heading to binding arbitration to resolve this dispute, but that is no longer the case.
CUPE representatives have called the Children’s Aid Society’s negotiation tactics ruthless, while CAS says they hope continued discussions will lead to resolutions for all outstanding issues.
