CUPE and CAS talks hit a wall

Talks between CUPE and the Children’s Aid Society have taken a step backwards.

The Children’s Aid Society of Parry Sound and Nipissing is currently embroiled in a lockout that has been going on since late December.

Now CUPE is taking shots at CAS, demanding they return to the bargaining table to put an end to this lockout.

Despite productive talks last week, there has been very little dialogue between the two sides since.

Children’s Aid and its workers remain split on workload management policies and sick leave.
