Canadian Blood Services asking for more donations

The heavy snow this winter is wreaking havoc on local blood donor clinics. Territory Manager for Canadian Blood Services, Elaine St. Pierre, says in the last three months local clinics only reached 95 per cent of the target donor number. She says that’s not enough because the numbers are closely aligned with what hospitals need.

She says the bad winter has caused clinic cancellations, and stopped people from venturing out. There is a clinic in Parry Sound next Friday, and 60 appointments still need to be filled.
