A winter full of heavy snow and bad weather is leaving Canadian Blood Services short of blood donors

Canadian Blood Services needs blood donors after a bad winter wreaked havoc on clinics in Parry Sound and Muskoka. Territory Manager, Elaine St. Pierre, says they had to cancel some clinics in Ontario and people weren’t venturing out during the worst of the heavy snow.

St. Pierre says the donor numbers in the Muskoka and Parry Sound areas are especially low.

A four-day blood drive begins next Friday in Parry Sound, and then stops will be made across Muskoka.

St. Pierre says they need over 350 units of blood over those four days. Over 200 appointments are still open in Huntsville, Bracebridge, Gravenhurst and Parry Sound.

Go to the Canadian Blood Services website to book an appointment, or take an eligibility quiz to see if you can donate or not.
