Carling Township sets 2017 budget

Taxes are going up in Carling
The budget for the township was formally approved last night.
There is a 2.9% increase on taxes.
Town CAO Kevin McLlwain says part of the increase in taxes comes from the increase cost of living.
He says the majority of the increase comes from the $90 000 increase in OPP funding.
The increase to police funding was decided by the province.
Other projects noted in the budget include a $460 000 investment into roads, a $1.5 million community centre and a new roof over the rink at around $400 000.
