Government Agency invited to meet about Wasauksing Swing Bridge

Parry Sound and the surround townships are looking for answers about the Wasauksing Swing Bridge
Town Council signed and supported a letter from The Archipelago inviting Transportation Canada to hold a forum on the new restrictions proposed for the Wasauksing Swing Bridge.
The most controversial of the new restrictions would have the bridge closed to water traffic if the wind speed was measured over 30 km/h.
Measurements would be taken ten minutes before every hour.
CAO of The Township of the Archipelago Steven Kaegi says closing the bridge would disrupt any large boats in the area – including cruise ships.
The proposed meeting would be held at the Parry Sound Town Hall and involve members of the Parry Sound community, as well as the Wasauksing First Nation and The Archipelago.
The Wasauksing Swing Bridge was built 125 years ago.
