Parry Sound Council decides against paying for Fire Hall renovations

The purchase of the old fire hall is going to cost Parry Sound Bikes a little more than they bargained for.
Last night, council voted against covering costs of removing asbestos siding from the fire hall’s tower.
Parry Sound Bikes says they were not made aware of the asbestos prior to making their pitch.
However, Parry Sound Council says the nature of the request for proposal for the fire hall was “as is, where is.”
Back in February council approved the purchase of the iconic fire hall by Parry Sound Bikes for $130,000.
