Risk of flooding for Parry Sound region

As we get back to warmer temperatures in Parry Sound there is a risk we could see some flooding.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry Parry Sound District office is warning residents in flood-prone areas to keep a watchful eye on the water levels.

Ministry officials say if you are living in an area that has flooded in the past, you might want to be proactive and start protecting your property now.

Officials say river levels are high and are only expected to rise as the snowpack begins to melt once again following the deep freeze we went through over the weekend.

The Town of Bracebridge was forced to close a portion of Germania Road last week due to the start of flooding.
