An officer with the Southern Georgian Bay OPP has been charged with assault.
According OPP Sergeant Peter Leon, Constable Michael Gentle has been suspended after he was charged for an off-duty incident.
Gentle has been an officer with the OPP since 2006.
He will appear in court in Orangeville on March 28th.
