Two men charged after crashing snowmobiles through the ice

Two men are facing charges after they survived going through the ice in Georgian Bay Township.

On Friday night, police were called when the snowmobiles were spotted breaking through the ice off of Brandy Island Road.

Emergency crews were called in to help the men who were stranded on the ice out in the water.

After they were brought back to shore, police found both men were drunk.

A 47-year-old man from Coldwater Township and 63-year-old man from Georgian Bay Township were charged with driving drunk.

They will both head to court in Midland on February 16th.
