Parry Sound Tykes kick off season

The Parry Sound Tykes started their hockey season on Sunday January 8th  with an away game against the Muskoka Rock.  The parking lot was full and the stands were packed.  Our team came out strong and after the first period the score was 1-1 thanks to a goal from Miya Rochon.  During the second, the Rock scored another goal but the Shamrocks responded quickly when Mic Constable pushed the puck past the goalie to make it 2-2.  During the third, back and forth pattern continued with the Muskoka Rock getting a goal and the Shamrocks returning the favour with Ryder Pykko who batted a loose puck into the net.  During the third, the little legs of the Shamrocks grew tired and the third period ended with a score of 5-3 for the Muskoka Rock.

The coaches are very proud of how well the team played and every player showed hustle and grit despite the fact that it was their first game they had ever played.
