West Parry Sound OPP officers reportedly assaulted and spit at during arrest

An Essa Township man is in serious trouble after allegedly assaulting officers during an arrest in Wallbridge Township.

On December 24th, West Parry Sound OPP discovered the vehicle of a man and a woman who had reportedly been involved in an incident in Sudbury.

Police had received reports that the two were also intoxicated and officers began arresting the driver, a 25-year-old woman from Essa. 

Officials say at that point, the 30-year-old man got out of the passenger side and assaulted the officer.

He then tried to get back into the vehicle, and while being arrested he reportedly began assaulting and spitting at the officers.

Both of the suspects were charged with assaulting an officer and the man was charged with causing bodily harm.
