Parry Sound – Muskoka already feeling carbon tax impacts

Parry Sound drivers and homeowners are already feeling the impact of the new carbon tax. That’s the message from Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP Norm Miller, who says he has been getting calls and letters from residents in the area.

Miller says life in Ontario is already expensive enough, with some of the highest electricity costs in North America.

On top of that, Miller says the Auditor General claims this plan isn’t going to have any real effect on climate change.

Miller says the government wants to raise around $8 billion in extra revenue between 2017 and 2020, with very little effect to reduce greenhouse gases. He says anyone who opposes this plan can let him know so he can bring that feedback to the province.
