CUPE Local 2049 is holding a picket line today outside the CAS North Bay office on day one of the lockout.
On December 20th talks broke down between the two sides and a letter issued from CAS administration earlier in the month suggested workers would be locked out as of today.
Picketers will be meeting at 9:00am in front of the office and then will march through downtown North Bay.
Negotiations have been strained between the two sides as CUPE representatives believe administration is putting too much work on its front line workers.
CAS Executive Director Gisele Herbert did speak to Moose FM earlier in the month, saying the caseloads have actually been on the decline since the beginning of the year.
Administration has not responded to Moose FM on these latest developments.
