Health Sciences North in Sudbury is offering a new type of procedure to help cancer patients in the region.
The Radiofrequency Ablation treatment uses electron probes to destroy cancer cells, according to HSN officials.
The procedure was only being offered in Toronto and Barrie up until this point.
 Doctor Deljit Dhanoa with HSN says he is excited to be able to start offering this procedure to patients in Northern Ontario.
This is an outpatient same-day procedure for patients with kidney, liver or lung cancers.
