TLDSB will not consider combining schools in Honey Harbour

Trillium Lakelands is not on board with combining the two primary schools in Honey Harbour. This idea is being floated by Georgian Bay Township, as the two schools are under an accommodation review, and could both be closed. The TLDSB runs the Honey Harbour Public School, while the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board oversees Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School. Trillium Lakelands says even if the students from both of these schools were combined, the numbers still aren’t enough for solid programming. The board says the school makes a little over 420-thousand, while it costs around 585-thousand to run. There is going to be a public meeting in February to hear input on the issue.
