Our local OPP are slated to get a new detachment office.
Yesterday, the province announced that nine new detachments will be constructed, including the West Parry Sound OPP detachment, replacing buildings at the end of their useful lifespan.
Detachment Commander Staff Sergeant Mike Gordon says local OPP is pleased that the projects have been announced and looks forward to occupying the new building so local officers can police the Parry Sound area effectively.
OPP Facilities is working with Infrastructure Ontario on the finalization of the site location. Infrastructure Ontario will be responsible for identifying and preparing sites for the planned development and managing the facility design and construction process.
The anticipated overall completion date for this project is late 2020.
