Parry Sound and Muskoka have more propane school buses this year

Hammond Transportation has added 27 more propane buses in Parry Sound and Muskoka.  After a pilot project in Parry Sound saw Hammond purchase 20 propane buses last year, the company has bought 25 for use in Muskoka and added two more to the Parry Sound fleet.  According to CEO Greg Hammond they are confident that the propane buses won’t cost more in the long run, they’ll be better for the environment, and they really make sense on every level.  The new buses run on propane autogas which is cheaper, more eco-friendly and helps the buses run quieter so the driver can hear the kids.  They are also  better in the winter as they can start in as low as minus 40 degree temperatures.
