Local cancer patient receives financial help thanks to local golf tournament

A record number of golfers at a local tournament have helped two great causes.  The 5th annual Grip It and Rip It Fore Hope was played at Parry Sound Golf Course this past Saturday with a record 57 golfers helping to raise over $3,500.  Half of the funds raised are going to local resident, Hugh Hunter, who has been battling cancer and is receiving his treatments at the West Parry Sound Health Centre.  The other half is being donated to Princess Margaret Hospital through One Walk, a 25km walk through the streets of Toronto on September 10th.  Tournament organizers thank everyone who participated in the event and all the sponsors for their contributions.  This year’s wining golf team was Jason McCormack, Dennis Heidman, Sean Beasley and Billy Watkinson with a score of 13-under-par.
