Police charge two people from Nova Scotia after theft investigation in Parry Sound

A couple from Nova Scotia have been charged after a credit card was stolen from Parry Sound.  West Parry Sound OPP was called on August 6th after someone broke a car window in the Lookout Tower parking lot and stole a purse.  The victim was told to call and cancel their credit cards and the credit card company was able to give police a location of where one of the cards was used last.  That enabled officers to find the suspects and as a result, a 35-year-old from Moser River, Nova Scotia has been charged with Mischief under $5,000, Theft under $5,000, two counts of using a stolen credit card, and possession of property obtained by crime.

A 25-year-old woman from Truro, Nova Scotia also faces a charge of possession of property obtained by crime and both will face their charges in a Parry Sound court next month.

Police believe the couple had been travelling across Canada and stealing to fund their trip, so anyone who has been the victim of a similar theft is asked to contact police or to call Crime Stoppers.
