The Emily Street reconstruction project is ready to begin. At Tuesday night’s meeting, council approved the agreement with Fowler Construction to complete the project. Director of Public Works Peter Brown says preliminary work is currently underway and construction is set to begin next week. Work will begin at the south end of the road where it meets with Rose Point Road. The project will be replacing waste water and sanitary sewer pipes as well as adding sidewalks and bike lanes. Federal and provincial funding will be helping with the cost of the project which is over $4 million.
