Water service for the Booth Street Community Garden is being investigated

The Booth Street Community Garden needs more water access.  Council heard at last night’s meeting that the garden at Booth Street Park is struggling with the hot and dry summer conditions.  Councillor Brad Horne says Parks and Recreation staff are now delivering water twice a week and Community Living Parry Sound has two summer students looking after the garden, but asked if something more permanent could be done.

Director of Public Works Peter Brown told council that a plan to service the park with water is in the works.

Brown informed council that when that site was selected, it was believed to have water service.

Council directed Brown to come back to council with the figure and where the money to pay for will be coming from.
