Not enough rain has fallen on West Parry Sound district to lower the Fire Danger Rating. District Fire Coordinator Chief Brian Leduc says even though sporadic rain has helped with the fire hazard, the Fire Danger Rating will remain at High. Only campfires for cooking, warmth, and recreation are allowed and residential fireworks are banned, but commercial fireworks shows are at the discretion of the individual municipal fire chief. The High rating will remain in effect until the region is reviewed on Thursday.
