CCGS Samuel Risley getting some important refit and maintenance work

A refit and maintenance contract for the CCGS Samuel Risley has been awarded.  Yesterday, the Government of Canada announced a $3.6 million contract for the work on the coast guard ice breaker and buoy tender based in Parry Sound.  Main vessel work includes replacement of the bow thruster, a crane overhaul and a recoating of the hull while the galley will also be refurbished and various pieces of equipment on board the vessel will be inspected.  The work began last month and is scheduled to be completed by September.
