Sixth annual Pedaling for Parkinson’s ready to hit the streets of Parry Sound

Cyclists hit the roads in the Parry Sound area this weekend for the sixth annual Pedaling for Parkinson’s.  The ride started in 2011, when local resident Peter Istvan and his longtime friend, David Newall, co-founded “Pedaling for Parkinson’s” to raise awareness and research funds for Parkinson’s.  Since then, over $500,000 has been raised and donated directly to the Pedaling for Parkinson’s Research Grant, which was created by Parkinson’s Society of Canada’s National Research Program.  Each year the grant is awarded to researchers who are working towards better treatments and possible cures for Parkinson’s.  To learn more about supporting the cause, the sponsors, and the various cycling route options for participants, visit www.pedalingforparkinsons.ca.
