Residential property values in the Parry Sound District have decreased slightly over the past four years

Residents across the Parry Sound District should be getting their new property assessments soon.  The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation began mailing Property Assessment Notices yesterday in Parry Sound.  Every four years MPAC conducts a province-wide Assessment Update and mails Property Assessment Notices to every property owner in Ontario.  MPAC Director of Valuation and Customer Relations Robert Buller says in the Parry Sound area, MPAC has seen a slight decrease in assessed values.

Buller explains what a typical assessment in the Town of Parry Sound was.

He says property owners should ask themselves if they could have sold their property for its assessed value on January 1st and if not, they are committed to working with them to get it right.

They can also call the MPAC office at 1 866-296-MPAC (6722) where an assessor could come and go over the assessment with the property owner.  For more information, property owners can visit aboutmyproperty.ca.
