The Canadian Coast Guard brought medical attention to a boater in distress on Georgian Bay over the weekend. On Friday night, the Canadian Coast Guard was called about a kayaker who had suffered an ankle injury and was in need of medical attention on West Fox Island. The woman was with a group of eight kayakers. The Coast Guard’s Inshore Rescue Boat CG-07 crew from Britt responded, battling a burst of severe weather on their way to the scene. The crew provided first aid to the injured woman and used a spine board to carry her to the coast guard boat. The woman and her partner were taken to Killarney where they were transferred to emergency medical services care.
