Generation Xers are driving demand for recreational properties across the country

Recreational properties in Parry Sound are among the lowest in the province.  A recent report from Royal LePage says generation X buyers of cottages, cabins and chalets across Canada outnumber Baby Boomers by almost two to one and prices across Ontario vary.  Broker from Team Advantage Realty in Parry Sound Nicole Boyd says statistics can be interpreted in many ways.

Boyd says local sales are showing more and more people are travelling to Parry Sound to secure lakefront and other recreational properties.

The average cost in Parry Sound for lakefront recreational properties is almost half that of those in Muskoka.  Planning for retirement living was among the most common reasons potential buyers gave for the purchase of a recreational property.
