McKellar is trying a different option to gain representation on the DSSAB board. At their meeting last night, council received a decision from the Municipality of Whitestone stating they would support either Mike Kekkonen from McKellar or Joel Constable from McDougall for Area 3 representation if one is approved by Carling, McDougall, and McKellar. Reeve Hopkins suggested that if McKellar endorsed him instead of Kekkonen, it might be agreeable to the other two municipalities. Kekkonen says it doesn’t matter who from McKellar gets onto the board as long as it’s a McKellar representative and council approved to rescind Kekkonen’s nomination and endorse the Reeve. McKellar hasn’t had a representative on the Board of the District Social Services Administration Board Directors since 2002.
