The Rosseau Public Library remains closed for health reasons. Last Monday, an air quality evaluation was taken and on Friday, Orkin Pest Control came in to assess the finding of animal droppings found in the library and in the Rosseau Memorial Community Hall building. CAO Chris Madej told council this morning the recommendations from Orkin were to ensure the doors to the library remain closed as it appears it was a chipmunk that got into the building. Councillor Rod Osbourne says the droppings found in the library are bigger than what a chipmunk would leave and suggests the findings of the pest control company are referring to other droppings found in the building. Manager of Community Services Dominique O’Brien says the library will remain closed until the air quality report comes back and any recommendations are fulfilled. The library was closed after a resolution was passed by the library board on June 9th.
