A new collaborative is forming to better deliver mental health and addictions services in Northeastern Ontario. After a comprehensive review of addiction services across the region by Dr. Brian Rush was presented to the North East LHIN Board of Directors earlier this month, a call was made to strike a North East Mental Health and Addictions Collaborative. The collaborative would report to the North East LHIN CEO and develop a plan to implement the six recommendations from Dr. Rush’s review and those outlined in a mental health Blueprint undertaken by Health Sciences North and North Bay Regional Health Centre earlier this year. The collaborative would be a mix of people and backgrounds and include representation from the five hub planning areas including Sudbury/Manitoulin/Parry Sound. To be a part of the collaborative, visit www.surveymonkey.com/r/L3GKDMK to apply by June 30th.
