The Municipality of McDougall is the latest to allow Sunday gun hunting. At last night’s meeting, council voted in favour of allowing gun hunting on Sundays within the municipality. President of Parry Sound Anglers and Hunters Gerry Haarmeyer says he’s tried to convince local townships for years to allow gun hunting on Sundays and suggests a reason for the change of heart.
Haarmeyer says allowing Sunday gun hunting will benefit the region economically.
He says it’s also great news for families who are busy.
The only rural municipality in West Parry Sound that still doesn’t allow Sunday gun hunting is Carling and Haarmeyer plans to visit them in the near future to hopefully change their minds too.
