Town of Parry Sound council wants to make sure Parry Sound High School doesn’t become abandoned. With funding already approved for a new K-12 school in the Parry Sound area, talks about a site for the school have been going on for about two years. While the town doesn’t know what sites are being discussed, it is a possibility that the current high school site may not be chosen. Councillor Paul Borneman put forth a resolution at Tuesday night’s meeting to ensure that if the current school is not selected, that the board ensures the town that it will not sit vacant for more than two years after the new school opens. Council voted in favour of the resolution.
