Town applying separatley for funding for the Trail Link

The Town of Parry Sound is making a separate application to fund the Trail Link project.  Originally, McDougall applied to the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program on behalf of both municipalities to help pay for a trail link from Parry Sound to McDougall along Parry Sound Drive for pedestrians, cyclists, and other recreational users.  The amount of funding for that program has been doubled and now both McDougall and the town will apply for their own potion of the project separately in hopes of maximizing the funding.  Town’s portion could be up to $175,000 and if there are successful in this application, they would get up to 50 per cent of the cost of the project in a non-repayable contribution up to $100,000.
