Police have charged a 31-year-old man with impaired driving. West Parry Sound OPP was patrolling Church Street in Parry Sound early Saturday morning when they pulled over a vehicle around 3:00am to check to see if the driver had been drinking. The officer determined the Parry Sound driver had been drinking and he was arrested and charged with driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood. He’ll face his charge in a Parry Sound court later this month while his vehicle is impounded for a week and his driver’s licence is suspended for 90 days. Police remind drivers that there is no safe amount of alcohol consumption when driving and anyone who suspects a driver that is driving while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
