Seguin is looking into a by-law to ensure properties are environmentally friendly

Staff in Seguin is looking into a by-law to help enforce property owners who are not environmentally friendly.  Councillor Ted Collins proposed a by-law at yesterday’s meeting that would give staff the authority to require property owners to maintain their property within environmental, health, safety, fire, and social standards on an individual property basis.  The rest of council agreed and staff will now draft a by-law to come back to council for approval at the July 18th meeting.  Mayor and council wanted to make sure the by-law was not a property standards or clean yards by-law and is written to reflect hot spot properties that are negligent such as the property at 550 Blackwater Road.
