A local camp has lost their founder

The founder of the local Camp for the Deaf has passed away.  Reverend Robert Rumball passed away on June 1st.  Rumball purchased lands for the Ontario Camp of the Deaf in Parry Sound in 1960 and established both the Ontario Community Centre for the Deaf, later renamed the Bob Rumball Centre for the Deaf, in Toronto and the BRCD Long-Term Care Home for the Deaf in Barrie.  He is remembered as the individual who had the greatest impact on the quality of life, human rights and services for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Special Needs community in the past century.  Visit our website for more details on his life and details on the funeral, visit  http://www2.bobrumball.org/index.php.
