McDougall is holding strong to have Councillor Joel Constable as the representative on the DSSAB Board. The Parry Sound District Social Services Administration Board had a vacancy for Area 3 after Peter Daleman retired as a Councillor from McDougall earlier this year. Area 3 covers four municipalities with Whitestone and McKellar supporting McKellar councillor Mike Kekkonen and McDougall and Carling supporting Joel Constable. McDougall rejected the idea of having a rotating position where each councillor would take turns sitting in on the meeting to represent Area 3 and stand firm behind Constable as their representative. DSSAB CAO Janet Patterson informed the four municipalities last week that if a representative is not agreed upon by the next board meeting on June 16th, neither will be confirmed as a Board Member. Both would still be able to attend meetings, but only as a general member of the public.
