Change made to how McDougall residents can display their municipal permits

McDougall residents no longer have to stick their municipal permit to the inside of the windshield.  Municipal Law Enforcement Chief Brian Leduc told council at last night’s meeting that an enforcement blitz was held at the Municipal Road Transfer Site last week where 131 vehicles came through in a three hour span.  Of those, 15 drivers didn’t have their permit properly attached to the windshield, but 13 of those were able to prove their residency.  As a result of that blitz and other data, an amendment to the Landfill Site and Transfer Station Operational Procedures by-law was proposed to allow the permits to just be visible through the windshield and not having to be attached.  Council felt the amendment would help properties with multiple ownership and voted in favour of the amendment.
