Proposed boundary change at Killbear Provincial Park subject to public comment

Killbear Provincial Park is looking to expand.  As approved in the park’s management plan, they have proposed a boundary change to remove the area of the park where the transfer site sits and transfer it to Carling Township.  They are also proposing to add 132 hectares to the park’s western boundary.  The Crown land addition will protect habitat for the provincially endangered Eastern Massassauga Rattlesnake and allow a better park boundary outline to increase the compliance of no hunting in the park.  Ontario Parks is calling for public input on this boundary change and the 45-day comment period begins today and ends on July 16th.  For information on how to provide your comments, click here: Killbear Boundary Changes-May-2016.
