Coolers full of healthy snacks at Parry Sound Public School are being adopted

The Breakfast Club at Parry Sound Public School has received a boost.  Last week, Georgian Bay Software committed to $50 a month to adopt a cooler for a classroom filled with healthy snacks for children.  Student Nutrition Program Coordinator Debbie Dudas says she thankful for the gift and is hoping more coolers can be adopted by the time the next school year arrives.  The program believes that the availability of healthy snacks and breakfast acts as an important catalyst for growth, development, and resiliency.  Numerous studies have found that eating breakfast at school is linked to improvements in all subject areas, increased alertness and concentration, improved behaviour and decreases student absenteeism and tardiness.  There are 20 coolers used for healthy snacks everyday at the school and any person or business wishing to help fill them is asked to contact [email protected].
