The lease has been approved for Swift River Energy to own certain lands in Bala. During the Township of Muskoka Lakes special council meeting, staff voted 6-3 to allow the lease to be finalized. Mayor Don Fruniss says there is still a lot of work to be done before shovels can go into the ground.
During the lease agreement, Margret Burgess Park was not included. The mayor says there was close to 170 people who attended the meeting.
