Almaguin Highlands OPP says two people were charged in the past week during their Festive R.I.D.E. program. During their second week of the operation, police stopped 289 vehicles in the area. On Saturday night police arrested and charged a driver and a passenger after the vehicle was seen slowing down and they were seen trying to change seats. They both were charged with failure or refusal to provide a breath sample, driving while impaired, obstructing a police officer and driving without a license. Police would like to remind everyone to drive safe during the holiday season and to not drink and drive.
